How to Insert a Download Link on a WordPress Page

If you have a WordPress website and you want to offer a downloadable item to your visitors, you can easily do so by inserting a download link on your page. Here are the steps you can follow to add a download link to a WordPress page.

1. First, log in to your WordPress website and navigate to the page where you want to add the download link.

2. In the page editor, highlight the text or image that you want to use as the link anchor. This is the clickable part of the link that will lead to the downloadable file.

3. Click the "Add Media" button in the header of the editor. This will open up the media uploader.

4. In the media uploader, click the "Upload Files" tab and select the file you want to offer for download from your computer.

5. After the file has been uploaded, click on it in the media library to select it.

6. In the right-hand sidebar, under "Attachment Details," you will see a field labeled "URL." Copy this URL.

7. Now, go back to the page editor and highlight the text or image again.

8. Click the "Link" button in the editor toolbar, which looks like a chainlink icon.

9. In the "Insert/edit link" dialog box, paste the URL you copied from the media library into the "URL" field.

10. Optionally, you can also set the link to open in a new window by clicking the "Open link in a new tab" checkbox.

11. Click the "Add Link" button to save your changes.
